The surroundings
Apartments Zeerust are situated in De Koog, a village at the foot of the dunes. The centre of De Koog is less than 100 meters from Hotel Zeerust. Behind the dunes, within 350 meters, you will find the Noordzeestrand. There is a cycle path behind the hotel that joins up with all beautiful cycle routes across the island. The woods border the immediate edge of the village, behind the hotel.
Things to do
- Always wanted to come face to face with a seal? Visit Ecomare, centre for Wadden and North Sea in De Koog. The seals are fed at 11 AM and 3 PM.
- Rent a bicycle and explore the island! We can supply you with several bicycle and hiking routes.
- Fresh 'Wadden' shrimps! Make a trip with a shrimp cutter across the Wadden. During the trip, the shrimp nets are cast and the skipper will tell you everything about the catch. Peel your own shrimps and eat them! You can book various boat trips in Oudeschild.
- Prefer to go shopping? The centre of Den Burg offers you a wonderful shopping opportunity. With its large variety of shops and, on Monday mornings, a cosy market in the village centre.
- Listen to tall tales told by real beachcombers. Visit the beachcombers’ museum.
